Yes. StreamZilla is a European video hosting platform by Jet-Stream B.V. in Groningen, the Netherlands. It runs under European law, in European hands, without American cloud infrastructure. You can take a hosted account or license StreamZilla and host it yourself.
Why is an American video platform a problem under the GDPR?
American companies and their European subsidiaries fall under the CLOUD Act and FISA 702. US authorities can compel access to data, even when it is stored in Europe. Transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which, like its predecessors Safe Harbor and Privacy Shield, is being challenged in court. A platform under European law has no such dependency.
What is a digitally sovereign video platform?
A platform where ownership, law, infrastructure and data are all four located in Europe, and where you decide who sees your videos and viewer data. Sovereignty also means being able to leave: your videos, metadata and statistics are yours and exportable.
Does my video player have to comply with the European Accessibility Act?
Since 28 June 2025 the European Accessibility Act applies to digital services in the EU; public bodies have been covered by the Web Accessibility Directive for longer. Video is one of the hardest parts: player, captions, audio description and keyboard control. The StreamZilla player is built to WCAG 2.2 AA.
